Ashley & Rahman's Wedding at The Addison

MAIN DETAILS
Ashley and Rahman were married on June 3, 2023 at The Addison in Boca Raton, Florida. Their summer wedding paired the venue's century-old banyan courtyard with floral design by Sharpe Events and Designs, film coverage from A Creation Films, and photography by Munoz Photography's John Fusco.

A June Wedding at The Addison

Ashley and Rahman were married on June 3, 2023, at The Addison in Boca Raton, one of the venues our team has photographed more than almost any other in South Florida. A summer wedding at The Addison is a different animal than a winter one: the light is heavier, the greenery is at its fullest, and the property's shaded courtyards do a lot of work keeping a June afternoon comfortable. Ashley and Rahman leaned into that rather than fighting it, building a day that used the venue's covered, tree-canopied spaces for the parts that mattered most and saving the open areas for the moments when the light softened. John Fusco was behind the camera for the day.

The Banyan Courtyard

The Addison's defining feature is its banyan trees — century-old, sprawling, and unlike anything else at a South Florida wedding venue. The courtyard they shade is the single most photographed spot on the property, and for good reason: the scale of the canopy overhead gives portraits a sense of place that a ballroom simply can't replicate. In June, that canopy also does something practical, filtering harsh midday sun into something soft and even. For Ashley and Rahman's coverage, the courtyard functioned as both a backdrop and a shelter, and a meaningful share of the day's portraits came out of that one corner of the venue.

Florals and Design by Sharpe Events and Designs

Sharpe Events and Designs handled floral and décor for the day. Designing florals for The Addison means working with a space that already brings a great deal of natural texture — the banyans, the Spanish-style architecture, the tilework — so the challenge is complementing the property rather than competing with it. Sharpe's arrangements read as an extension of the venue instead of an overlay on top of it, which is the harder version of the job and the one that photographs best. Well-considered florals also give a photographer something to build compositions around during the detail and room-reveal windows, and that held true throughout Ashley and Rahman's coverage.

The Ceremony

The Addison offers a few different ceremony configurations, and each changes the character of the images considerably — the courtyard under the banyans, the more formal indoor spaces, and the areas adjacent to the main house. Wherever a couple lands, the venue's layout keeps guests close, which means ceremony coverage at The Addison tends to be tighter and more intimate than at larger, more spread-out properties. Ashley and Rahman's ceremony followed that pattern, and the compact setting made it straightforward to cover both the couple and their guests' reactions without a long lens or an intrusive setup.

Portraits Around the Property

One of the reasons The Addison stays in heavy rotation for our team is how much visual variety sits inside a single property. Within a short walk you can move from the banyan courtyard to Spanish-tiled arcades, from open lawn to intimate interior corners, each offering a distinctly different look. That range matters most on a summer wedding, when the light changes character quickly across an afternoon and evening, and having multiple usable backdrops means we're never waiting on one specific spot to become workable. Ashley and Rahman's portrait coverage moved across several of these areas over the course of the day.

Filmed by A Creation Films

A Creation Films handled video coverage. Photo and video teams share the same physical space all day, and the difference between a smooth wedding and a frustrating one often comes down to whether those two teams communicate. A Creation Films is a Miami-based outfit that works this circuit regularly, and coordinating angles, movement, and lighting positions with an experienced video team means neither crew ends up in the other's frame. For a couple, the practical upshot is simple: two complete sets of coverage from the same day, without either one being compromised to accommodate the other.

The Reception

The Addison handles catering in-house, which consolidates a significant portion of a wedding day's logistics under one roof and one point of contact. For the reception, that translates into a predictable rhythm — room reveal, entrances, dinner service, and dancing all running on a timeline the venue's own team is managing. From a coverage standpoint, that predictability is genuinely valuable: it means we can anticipate what's coming next and position for it rather than reacting after the fact.

Vendor Team

Ashley and Rahman's day came together with The Addison serving as both venue and caterer, Sharpe Events and Designs on floral and décor, A Creation Films on video, and Muñoz Photography's John Fusco behind the camera. It was a compact vendor team, and compact teams tend to run smoothly — fewer handoffs, fewer competing timelines, and less time spent coordinating between crews instead of working.

Why We Love Shooting at The Addison

The Addison remains one of our most-recommended venues in Boca Raton, and Ashley and Rahman's June wedding is a good illustration of why: banyan trees that photograph like nowhere else in South Florida, enough backdrop variety to carry an entire day, and an in-house team that keeps the logistics simple. If you're weighing The Addison for a summer wedding, it's a venue we'd recommend without hesitation — and one we'd be glad to photograph for you.
