Sara & Elias's Banyan Tree Wedding at The Addison

MAIN DETAILS
Sara Rosenberg and Elias Mellul were married on December 2, 2023 at The Addison in Boca Raton, moving from Hillsboro Beach to the venue's banyan-tree courtyard for portraits. Their evening ceremony was followed by a reception with florals from Dalsimer and music from Mike Sipe.

A Banyan Tree Wedding at The Addison

Sara Rosenberg and Elias Mellul were married on December 2, 2023, at The Addison in Boca Raton, one of South Florida's most requested wedding venues and a location our team knows intimately. The Addison's mix of century-old banyan trees, Spanish-style courtyards, and elegant ballrooms gives every wedding there its own character, and Sara and Elias made full use of that variety across their day, moving from an oceanfront getting-ready location all the way to the property's most photogenic courtyard corners for their portraits.

Getting Ready at Hillsboro Beach

The day began away from The Addison entirely, with groom coverage starting at 12:30 PM and bride coverage following at 1:15 PM at a private residence in Hillsboro Beach. Starting the day beachside gave the morning a relaxed, unhurried feel before the energy picked up, and it meant the earliest images of the day had a completely different tone and light than what would come later at the venue itself.

‍

First Look and Early Portraits

Sara and Elias shared their first look at 2:45 PM, still in Hillsboro Beach, followed immediately by bride and groom creatives at 3:00. This early portrait window let the couple have a quiet, unhurried moment together before the transit to The Addison and the more structured parts of the day began. By 3:15, the whole day shifted gears as everyone made their way to Boca Raton for the ceremony and reception.

Arriving at The Addison

Once at The Addison, the couple continued their portrait session at 3:30 PM, this time taking advantage of a specific request from Sara and Elias: portraits with the property's iconic banyan trees in the background, alongside some balcony shots for variety. The Addison's banyan trees are one of the most requested backdrops we shoot against at this venue, and for good reason — the scale and texture of the trees create a completely different kind of portrait than anything achievable indoors.

Ketubah, Ceremony, and Family Portraits

At 4:30 PM, the bridal suite hosted both a freshen-up and the ketubah signing, a meaningful, more intimate moment ahead of the ceremony itself at 5:00 PM. Five-year-old flower girl Makai led the way down the aisle to kick off the ceremony. Family and bridal party portraits followed at 5:30, gathering the day's key people for the traditional formal images before everyone moved toward cocktail hour and the reception space.

The Reception

Decor and room reveal came together at 5:45 PM, giving guests their first look at the fully transformed reception space, with Dalsimer's floral work setting the tone for the room. The reception itself kicked off at 6:30 PM, with Mike Sipe keeping the entertainment and energy consistent well into the night. Coverage wrapped at 10:30 PM, closing out a day that spanned two very different settings — a quiet beachside morning and a full celebration inside one of Boca Raton's most storied venues.

Vendor Team

Sara and Elias's wedding came together with The Addison as both venue and caterer, Dalsimer handling florals and décor, Senderey Video capturing the day on film, and Mike Sipe keeping the reception running smoothly. Together, this vendor team delivered a day that moved seamlessly between two very different locations without ever feeling rushed or disjointed.

Why We Love Shooting at The Addison

The Addison continues to be one of the most versatile venues we shoot at in South Florida — banyan trees, Spanish courtyards, and elegant ballroom space all within one property, giving every couple who gets married there a genuinely unique set of portraits. Sara and Elias's wedding is a great example of what's possible when a couple combines a personal, beachside morning with an evening at a venue as photogenic as The Addison.
